Volleyball Swept at Salve Regina, 3-0
NEWPORT, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Salve Regina Tuesday evening in the final league match of the season.
The Lions slip to 3-23 on the year and 1-7 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Seahawks improve to 16-9 overall and 5-2 in conference action with the win.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) posted a team-high seven kills on the night while adding 11 digs, one ace and one block. Jaclyn Teed (Lansdale, Pa.) notched four kills and a pair of digs.
Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) chipped in with six assists, four digs and two solo blocks. Oksana DiCamillo (Nottingham Township, Pa.) recorded eight digs and Madisen Robinson (West Grove, Pa.) collected five digs.
Eastern Nazarene fell behind after falling 25-10 in the opening set.
The hosts picked up a 25-17 win in the second frame to grab a 2-0 lead in the match.
Salve Regina capped off the sweep with a 25-15 victory in the third to snap a two-match skid.
Francesa Testani paced the Seahawks with 10 kills while Chrissy Fraga racked up 20 digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will travel to take on Rivier in a non-conference tilt October 30.
