Volleyball Falls to Endicott, 3-0, in Final Home Match of 2014
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team endured a 3-0 loss to Endicott in the final home contest of the 2014 campaign Wednesday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions slide to 3-21 overall and 1-5 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the setback. The Gulls improve to 12-14 on the year and 3-2 in league matches with the win.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) tallied a team-best 13 kills while adding eight digs on the night. Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) posted four kills and six digs. Oksana DiCamillo (Nottingham Township, Pa.) led Eastern Nazarene with 12 digs in the match.
Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) finished with 21 assists and a pair of digs. Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) notched three kills and three blocks.
Eastern Nazarene dropped the opening set 25-18 to fall behind 1-0.
Endicott cruised to a 25-7 win in the second frame to grab a two-set lead. The visitors closed out the victory with a 25-18 decision in the third to snap a four-match skid.
Hayley Knapp paced the Gulls with 10 kills while Erika Trudon registered a match-high 17 digs.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will hit the road for a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup at Gordon October 25. The Lions will be looking to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Fighting Scots in the 2014 season-opener earlier this fall.
