Volleyball Falters at Lesley Thursday, 3-0
BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team fell on the road at Lesley 3-0 Thursday evening.
The Lions drop to 2-20 on the season while the Lynx improve to 10-3 overall with the result.
Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) led Eastern Nazarene with nine kills and eight digs. Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) finished with a team-high 17 digs while adding seven kills and three aces.
Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) racked up 18 assists on the night and tallied a pair of kills.
The hosts prevailed in the opening set 25-16.
The visitors fell behind 2-0 in the match after conceding the second frame 25-19.
Lesley secured its second consecutive victory after edging the Lions 26-24 in the third set.
Anni Abbruzzese paced the Lynx with 13 kills while Ciara Bruning notched 11 kills.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns home to square off against Curry in a crucial Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup October 18.
