Volleyball Dealt 3-0 Loss at Western New England
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback at Western New England University Tuesday evening.
The Lions drop to 2-19 on the season and 0-4 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Golden Bears improve to 16-7 overall and remain unbeaten in league play with a 4-0 mark.
Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) paced the visitors with five kills in the match to go with five digs. Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) and Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) each notched six digs and added a pair of kills on the night.
Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) registered 10 assists and five digs for Eastern Nazarene. Libero Oksana DiCamillo (Nottingham Township, Pa.) led the Lions with 12 digs in the contest.
The hosts claimed the first set 25-16 to grab a 1-0 lead in the match. Western New England prevailed 25-13 in the second stanza to double its advantage to 2-0.
The Golden Bears cruised to a 25-8 decision in the third to score a 3-0 victory.
Kelsey Armstrong led the home team with 14 kills while Kendra Ouimete tallied 14 digs.
