Volleyball Endures 3-0 Loss to Roger Williams
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Roger Williams Thursday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions slip to 2-16 on the year and 0-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the result. The Hawks improve to 12-4 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 4-0.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) led the home side with seven kills and six digs. Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) posted four kills and a solo block in the match. Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) finished with 13 assists and seven digs. Oksana DiCamillo (Nottingham Township, Pa.) paced Eastern Nazarene with eight digs on the night while Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) added four digs.
Roger Williams cruised to a 25-7 win in the opening set before picking up a 25-9 victory in the second frame.
The Hawks capped off the sweep with a 25-13 decision in the third to secure their 11th consecutive victory.
Sarah McAniff notched a team-high nine kills for Roger Williams while Kristen Boyer, Elizabeth Flaherty and Brittany McMullen all tallied seven kills. Flaherty also collected 17 digs in the victory and Maria Batas recorded 15 digs.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will travel to Anna Maria College to face off against Suffolk and the host AMCats October 11.
