Women’s Volleyball Blanked by Rhode Island College, 3-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team absorbed a 3-0 loss to Rhode Island College Wednesday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions fall to 1-14 on the year with the loss while the Anchorwomen improve to 6-8 overall.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) notched a team-high nine kills on the night while adding eight digs and one ace. Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) led the home team with 12 digs and posted five winners and seven assists. Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) collected four kills and a pair of blocks.
Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) registered nine assists, two service aces and three digs while Oksana DiCamillo (Nottingham Township, Pa.) chipped in with seven digs in the match.
Rhode Island College prevailed 25-14 in the first set to grab a 1-0 lead.
The Anchorwomen claimed the second frame 25-17 before clinching the match with a 25-19 win in the third set.
Lauren Palazzini paced Rhode Island College with 15 kills and nine digs. Megan Armburg, Hannah Cole and Michelle Malboeuf all tallied 10 digs for the guests. Rookie Abigayl White dished out 37 assists on the night.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene remains at home with a tri-match October 4 with Mount Ida and Southern Maine.
