Clinkscale Claims CCC Volleyball Player of the Week Honors
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene volleyball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Clinkscale helped the Lions to a 2-2 week, including 2-1 in conference action.
She racked up 61 kills, 39 digs, four aces and two blocks on the week for Eastern Nazarene.
In the Lions' 3-0 loss at Endicott, Clinkscale posted 10 kills and five digs. The senior notched nine kills and eight digs in a 3-0 victory at Curry.
The middle blocker then erupted for 27 kills and 10 digs as the Lions rallied from a 2-1 deficit to best Gordon 3-2 to secure their spot in the CCC Tournament for the first time since 2007.
Clinkscale capped off the week with 15 kills and 16 digs in a 3-0 loss to Framingham State.
The Lions enter the CCC Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 Endicott on Tuesday for a quarterfinal match at 7:00 p.m.
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 15-16 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
