Lauryl Berger Tabbed CCC Volleyball Rookie of the Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Freshman Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) of the Eastern Nazarene volleyball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Berger played a vital role in the Lions posting a 4-0 record on the week, including the team's first conference win of the season.
She totaled 133 assists on the week while adding 29 digs and six service aces.
Berger dished out 41 assists and recorded 10 digs to held Eastern Nazarene claim its first league victory of the year, a 3-0 decision over Wentworth.
The rookie produced 39 assists and 10 digs in the Lions' come-from-behind 3-2 win over Daniel Webster.
She closed out the week with 26 assists in a 3-0 sweep over Mount Ida and a 27-assist effort in a 3-0 victory over Southern Maine.
Berger has racked up 721 assists, 32 aces and 142 digs on the season.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 13-13 overall record with a 1-3 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Up next, the Lions will look to capture their fifth-straight win October 23 as they travel north to face the University of New England in a key conference match.
