Volleyball Drops Non-League Matches to MIT, Mount Ida Saturday
WESTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene volleyball team suffered a pair of setbacks Saturday afternoon to close out play at the Regis College Pride Invitational, falling to Mount Ida and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

WESTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene volleyball team suffered a pair of setbacks Saturday afternoon to close out play at the Regis College Pride Invitational, falling to Mount Ida and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The Lions sink to 0-4 overall while the Engineers improve to 3-0 and the Mustangs rise to 1-2.
Eastern Nazarene absorbed a 3-0 loss to MIT in the first match of the day. The Engineers swept the match with set wins of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-17.
Seniors Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) and Leann Williams (Oxford, Pa.) led the way with four kills each in the match. Setter Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) registered 10 assists against the Engineers. Defensively, Sam Losano (Elverta, Calif.) recorded 12 digs and Dana Day (Coarsegold, Calif.) added six.
Eastern Nazarene wrapped up the two-day tournament with a 3-1 loss to Mount Ida. The Mustangs edged the Lions 25-22 in the opening frame. Eastern Nazarene responded with a 25-23 win in the second set to level the contest. Mount Ida claimed the third set 25-22 before closing out the victory with a 25-20 win in the fourth.
Day posted a team-high eight kills in the match to go with 11 digs and four aces. Clinkscale chipped in with six kills and five digs. Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) notched four kills and 10 digs while Williams tallied four kills against the Mustangs.
Berger distributed 21 helpers and contributed five digs. Losano finished the Lions' second match of the day with 19 digs.
At the conclusion of the weekend event, Welsh was named to the All-Tournament Team as she finished with a team-best 27 kills.
