Volleyball Drops Five-Setter at Daniel Webster, 3-2

NASHUA, N.H. - The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball absorbed a 3-2 loss at Daniel Webster Thursday evening in non-conference action. The result drops the Lions to 11-15 overall while the Eagles improve to 11-8 on the season.
The visitors captured the opening set 25-19 but Daniel Webster leveled the match at a set each with a 26-24 decision in the second game. Eastern Nazarene reclaimed the lead with a 25-13 win in the third frame.
The Eagles knotted the contest at 2-2 after prevailing in the fourth 25-17. In the deciding fifth set, the hosts edged the Lions 15-13 to seal the win.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.V.) paced Eastern Nazarene with 15 kills on the night. Birdina Tuiava (Colorado Springs, Colo.) turned in a stellar performance for the Lions with 14 kills, 15 digs, 28 assists and six aces in the match.
Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) and Dana Day (Coarsegold, Calif.) each tallied eight kills for the visitors. Kori Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) and Day both racked up 19 digs while Sam Losano (Elverta, Calif.) recorded 12.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns home for the final regular-season home match of the 2012 campaign. The Lions will play host to Salem State at 11:00 am on Homecoming.
