Women’s Track & Field Shines at CCC Championships
PORTSMOUTH, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's track & field captured six top-five individual finishes and placed fifth in the team standings at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship meet hosted by Roger Williams University Saturday.
The Lions edged Nichols and finished just behind Endicott while Roger Williams captured the team crown.
Rookie Isis McFadden (Telford, Pa.) claimed first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.36 seconds while notching a first-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a personal-best of 27.15 seconds. She also placed second in the long jump with a mark of 4.90 meters.
Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) captured first place in the shot put with a personal-record of 10.56 meters. Joseph also shattered her personal-best in the discus with a toss of 27.31 meters to earn fifth.
Michelle Detwiler (Elkhart, Ind.) claimed fifth in the long jump with a personal-record of 4.71 meters. Kristen Moore (Corinth, Texas) also set a personal-best in the long jump with a leap of 4.45 meters. Julia Seeley (Amsterdam, N.Y.) posted a mark of 3.71 meters in her first participation in the long jump.
Sarah Iheduru (Providence, R.I.) earned a pair of top-10 finishes at the meet, placing eighth in the shot put and ninth in the discus throw.
