Women’s Track & Field Opens Season at Corsair Classic
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's track and field team competed at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic Saturday in the first meet of the 2018 season.
The Lions placed ninth in the meet, edging out Massachusetts Maritime, Lasell, Community College of Rhode Island, and the Northeastern Running Club.
Isis McFadden (Telford, Pa.) posted a pair of top-10 finishes on the day, claiming sixth in the long jump with a mark of 4.9 meters and racing to eighth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.53 seconds.
Angela Moore (Sanford, Fla.) placed 10th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.28 seconds and in the long jump with a leap of 4.55 meters.
Alison Morse (Weymouth, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 3:10.20 to capture eighth place in the 800 meters.
The relay team of McFadden, Julia Seeley (Amsterdam, N.Y.), Kristen Moore (Corinth, Texas), and Angela Moore combined to earn fifth in the 4x100 meter race with a time of 56.48 seconds.
Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 9.84 meters.
Sarah Iheduru (Providence, R.I.) claimed ninth in the shot put with a mark of 8.96 meters and earned 12th in the discus throw with a toss of 22.16 meters.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to action April 14 at the Mount Holyoke College Spring Fling Invitational.
