Women’s Tennis Falls to League-Leading Colby-Sawyer
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback to Colby-Sawyer Wednesday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions dip to 2-5 on the season and 2-2 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with the result. The Chargers improve to 6-1 overall with the win and remain unbeaten in league action with a 4-0 mark.
Maria Busila (Malaga, Spain) and Katie Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) dropped an 8-2 decision at the No. 1 doubles position to Grace Carpenter and Emily Hill.
Kari Bollinger (Alton Bay, N.H.) and Mary Boucher (Whitinsville, Mass.) fell 8-1 to Elise Hogan and Lindsey MacDonald at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Mya Landry (Derry, N.H.) and Krista Signs (Mashpee, Mass.) absorbed an 8-0 loss to Amelia Campanella and Amira Eid at the third slot.
Colby-Sawyer notched straight-set victories at all six singles positions to lock up its fourth-consecutive win.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene is back in action at Bridgewater State September 30.
