Women’s Tennis Falters at University of Saint Joseph, 8-1
HARTFORD, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at the University of Saint Joseph Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions slide to 0-2 on the year with the result while the Blue Jays improve to 1-0 overall.
Maria Busila (Malaga, Spain) and Jenna Schlosser (Bridgewater, Mass.) suffered an 8-4 setback at the top doubles spot to Kathleen Gilland and Emily Kerr.
Kari Bollinger (Alton Bay, N.H.) and Mary Boucher (Whitinsville, Mass.) fell to Carolyn Callahan and Ananya Srivatsav 8-5 at the No. 2 doubles slot.
Busila collected the visitors' lone victory on the day, prevailing 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position over Gilland.
Schlosser endured a 6-0, 6-0 loss at the No. 2 spot to Kerr while Boucher dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision to Callahan at the third slot.
Bollinger fell 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 4 position against Srivatsav and Krista Signs (Mashpee, Mass.) absorbed a 6-1, 6-0 setback at the fifth spot to Emily Rhee.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene travels to Bridgewater State April 30.
