Women’s Tennis Set to Face Regis in GNAC Semifinals Saturday
QUINCY, Mass.- In its first season as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team earned a first-round bye to the GNAC Tournament semifinals. The No. 2 seed Lions will square off against third-seeded Johnson & Wales (R.I.) Saturday in the semifinals.

HOW THEY GOT HERE:
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 10-2 overall record to go with a 6-1 league mark to capture the No. 2 seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament. Regis earned the No. 3 seed and advanced to the semifinals with a 5-0 victory over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) in the opening round.
POSTSEASON HISTORY:
Eastern Nazarene is making its second-straight trip to the GNAC Tournament semifinals. The Lions fell to Johnson & Wales in last year's semifinals. Eastern Nazarene has earned postseason berths in each of the past three seasons.
ENC vs. REGIS – PART TWO:
Eastern Nazarene and Regis met on the courts September 14 in the first GNAC match of the season with the Lions narrowly prevailing 5-4 at home. Eastern Nazarene owns a 15-22 all-time record against the Pride and has won the previous three meetings.
ALL THE SINGLE LADIES:
The Lions have combined to post a 51-21 record in singles matches this fall. Emily Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) paces the team with an 11-0 mark on the year while Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) boasts an 11-1 record. Sharon Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Maria Busila (Malaga, Spain) both sport 9-3 records.
DOUBLE DUTY:
The Lions have notched a combined record of 25-11 in doubles action this season. Biondi and Jimenez have teamed up to post an 11-1 mark on the fall at the No. 2 doubles position. Eastern Nazarene's top doubles duo of Ruttkowski and Hubel sport a 10-2 record in doubles matches this season.
