Women’s Tennis Aces Albertus Magnus 9-0
NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team coasted to a 9-0 league victory at Albertus Magnus Thursday afternoon.
The Lions jump to 7-0 on the year and 4-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with the win. The Falcons flutter to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in conference matches with the outcome.
Adele Duval (Reading, Calif.) and Emily Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) improve to 7-0 in doubles action with an 8-2 victory at the top position against Jessica Coughlin and Lakhena Rath.
Jacquelin Arretche (Los Banos, Calif.) and Annelise Sherrill (Elk Grove, Calif.) rolled to an 8-2 win at the No. 2 doubles spot over Izzy Sabino and Nallely Magana.
Veronica Jimenez (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Alecia Tubbs (Rochester, N.Y.) blanked Nhi Trinh and Tiffanee Gardner at the third slot.
Ruttkowski topped Coughlin 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles spot while Duval downed Sabino 6-1, 6-0 at the second slot.
Jimenez cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the third position against Magano and Arretche defeated Rath 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot.
Sherrill picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the fifth slot against Trinh while Tubbs collected a 6-0, 6-2 win in the No. 6 singles match over Cassie Couture.
