Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Award; Four Named ITA Scholar-Athletes
TEMPE, Ariz.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team Award for the fourth time in program history and for the first time since 2016 while also garnering four ITS Scholar-Athletes, announced the organization Tuesday.
A total of 735 teams and 4,328 student-athletes across all NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA divisions were honored.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
Adele Duval (Redding, Calif.), Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.), Emily Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany), and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.) were all recognized for their academic success.
Cressman and Steelman each picked up their third career ITA Scholar-Athlete nod while Duval was honored for the second time.
