Women’s Tennis Breezes by Becker, 8-1
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 victory over Becker Thursday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions improve to 6-3 overall with the win, the program's highest win-total since 2007. The Hawks sink to 0-5 on the season with the loss.
Adele Duval (Reading, Calif.) and Emily Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) blanked Jacqueline Andrade and Victoria Puczydlowski 8-0 at the top doubles position.
Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.) cruised to an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 spot over Dana Mahan and Fiona Gilley.
Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) and Angeline Vick (Jamestown, N.Y.) earned an 8-0 win over Shannon Hazelton and Jessica Mossop at the third slot.
Ruttkowski notched a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 1 singles position over Andrade.
Duval coasted by Puczydlowski at the second slot 6-0, 6-0 while Steelman raced past Mahan 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot.
Jimenez collected a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 5 position over Hazelton.
Vick posted her first singles win of the season, topping Mossop in straight sets at the sixth spot.
