Women’s Tennis Endures 9-0 Loss at Endicott
BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision at Endicott Saturday afternoon.
The Lions sink to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the outcome. The Gulls improve to 6-3 on the year and 5-1 in league play with the win.
Adele Duval (Redding, Calif.) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.) suffered an 8-3 setback to Mackenzie Rhodes and Maxine Bergstein at the top doubles position.
Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) and Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) fell to Reilly Fitzgibbons and Lauren Rahr at the No. 2 spot 8-1.
Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine) and Julie Sutton (Middletown, Conn.) absorbed an 8-0 loss at the third doubles slot to Alexandra Barmore and Jamie Zompa.
Duval dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at the No. 1 singles match to Hayley Barnett. Steelman fell to Margot Andreasen in the second spot. Cressman suffered a straight-set setback to Gillian Freter at the third position.
Jimenez endured a straight-set loss to Rhodes at the No. 4 slot, 6-0, 6-0. Sutton lost to Zompa 6-0, 6-1 at the fifth spot while Lariviere fell to Alexi Losano at the No. 6 position.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene travels to the Ocean State to square off against Salve Regina September 28.
