Women’s Tennis Swept by Nichols, 9-0
DUDLEY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team absorbed its second conference loss of the season, falling to Nichols 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Lions move to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Bison improve to 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in league matches.
Adele Duval (Redding, Calif.) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.) dropped an 8-1 decision to Amarie Settiwongse and Danielle Mandel at the No. 1 doubles position.
Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) and Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) fell to Megan Nathanson and Isabelle Leonardi at the second spot 8-0.
Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine) and Julie Sutton (Middletown, Conn.) suffered an 8-0 setback at the No. 3 slot to Cristina Szepanski and Lindsey Kaplan.
Duval absorbed a 6-0, 6-0 loss at the top singles position to Settiwongse while Steelman fell to Alanna Judd at the No. 2 spot 6-0, 6-0.
Cressman dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Daniela Saldarriaga at the No. 3 slot and Jimenez endured a 6-0, 6-0 setback to Mandel in the fourth singles match.
Sutton fell to Rachel McDonald 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 position and Lariviere was edged in an eight-game pro-set by Emily Sprague at the sixth spot, 8-6.
