Women’s Tennis Endures 9-0 Loss to Endicott in Final Home Match
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team fell to league-leading Endicott 9-0 Saturday in the final home contest of the fall.
The Lions slip to 3-7 on the year and 1-5 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls improve to 8-2 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 6-0.
Prior to the start of the match, the Eastern Nazarene women's tennis program honored its two graduating seniors : Tressa Burrello (Herkimer, N.Y.) and Jordan Price (Snow Hill, Md.).
Adele Duval (Dallas, Texas) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.) were edged at the No. 1 doubles spot 8-6 by Maxine Bergstein and Mackenzie Rhodes.
Burrello and Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) fell to Hayley Barnett and Margot Andreasen 8-1 at the second position.
Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine) and Alecia Tubbs (Rochester, N.Y.) suffered an 8-0 setback at the No. 3 slot to Reilly Fitzgibbons and Lauren Rahr.
Duval dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Barnett in the No. 1 singles match. Steelman absorbed a 6-2, 6-2 setback to Andreasen at the second spot.
Burrello, Cressman, Julie Sutton (Middletown, Conn.) and Price all fell in straight sets.
