Women’s Tennis Garners ITA All-Academic Team Award, Seven Scholar-Athlete Selections
SKILLMAN, N.J.- The Eastern Nazarene women's tennis team has been recognized by the International Tennis Association (ITA) with the All-Academic Team Award while seven student-athletes picked up All-Academic Scholar-Athlete accolades.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA member program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.
Juju Atwater (Weymouth, Mass.), Tressa Burrello (Herkimer, N.Y.), Kelsie Griffes (Dover, N.H.), Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine), Bethany Mohnkern (Petersburg, Pa.), Jordan Price (Snow Hill, MD.) and Kelsey Waddle (Olathe, Kan.) were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2013-14 academic year.
The ITA recognized 87 NCAA Division III women's tennis programs and 1,144 student-athletes from across the nation.
The Lions were one of five women's tennis teams from the Commonwealth Coast Conference honored by the ITA along with Endicott, Gordon, Salve Regina and Western New England.
