Women’s Tennis Blanked by League-Leading Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss at league-leading Endicott Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Lions to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls rise to 10-1 on the season and 6-0 in the league with the result.
The home team cruised to a trio of doubles victories on the day. Sharon Lemire (Lyndeboro, N.H.) and Kathryn McLaughlin (Huntington Station, N.Y.) fell 8-2 at the No. 2 position. Tressa Burrello (Herkimer, N.Y.) and Kelsey Waddle (Olathe, Kan.) dropped an 8-2 decision at the third slot.
Endicott swept the six singles matches to remain unbeaten in conference matches this fall.
Lemire suffered a 6-1, 6-1 setback at the top spot while Elise Sleeper (Sanford, Maine) also fell 6-1, 6-1 at the second slot.
Burrello endured a 6-2, 6-2 loss at the No. 5 singles position and Waddle dropped an eight-game pro-set at the sixth spot, 8-2.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will host Western New England October 3 at 3:30 pm.
