QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 setback at Husson Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions fall to 3-10-0 on the season with the decision while the Eagles rise to 10-3-2 overall.
The home side constructed an early 1-0 edge with a strike in the sixth minute. Natalie Aviolla netted her team-leading 14th goal of the season as Charlotte Messer provided the assist.
Husson doubled its lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute. Aviolla collected her second tally of the game as she finished a feed from Miranda Lewis.
The Eagles tacked on their third score of the match in the 63rd minute to widen the gap to 3-0. Aviolla completed her fourth hat trick of the year as she knocked in a pass from Mackenzie Lambert.
The hosts pushed the margin to 4-0 in the 75th minute as Charlotte Messer notched her 10th goal of the campaign.
Husson capped off the scoring in the 79th minute. Sydney Drew bagged her fifth marker of the season and Willow Whitten picked up her third assist.
Eastern Nazarene managed three shots on the day as Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill.), Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass.), and Deeanna Castro (Boise, Idaho) all recorded one shot attempt. The Eagles generated 33 shots and finished with a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks earned.
Senior goalkeeper Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) posted 10 saves in her 11th start.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene treks to the Empire State to battle Bryant & Stratton in Syracuse, New York October 23.
