Women’s Soccer Falls to Lesley on Senior Day
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to Lesley Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions dip to 3-9-0 on the year and 0-2-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the result. The Lynx improve to 9-3-1 overall and 2-0-0 in conference competition with the win.
Prior to the start of the match, the Eastern Nazarene women's soccer program honored and celebrated the careers of its senior class: Sam Baston (Carver,Mass.), Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass.), Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.), Emily Forstrom (St. Paul, Minn.), Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass.), Michala O'Donoghue (San Bruno, Calif.), and Briana Taylor (Milton, Del.).
The visitors snagged an early 1-0 edge as Alex Carruth floated a long-range shot into the back of the net to notch her first goal of the season.
Lesley doubled its lead to 2-0 in the 32nd minute. Courtney McCluskey slotted in her fourth marker of the fall as Chloe Kouyoumdjian provided the assist.
Eastern Nazarene managed a pair of shot attempts in the opening half while the Lynx fired 12 shots.
The guests added a goal in the 64th minute to stretch the gap to 3-0. Juliana Rossini turned in a cross from McCluskey to bag her third tally of the season.
Lesley tacked on a score in the 69th minute to expand its lead to 4-0 as Kayleigh Chicas launched a long-range shot to net her first goal of the year.
The Lions produced six shots in the match while the Lynx manufactured 29 attempts.
Baston paced the home team with a pair of shots while Taylor, Best, Forstrom, and Deanna Castro (Boise, Idaho) all recorded one shot in the game.
Fevola finished with 10 saves in her 10th start of the season between the posts.
