WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team endured a 2-1 loss at the University of Saint Joseph Saturday afternoon in the first-ever meeting between the two squads.
The Lions slide to 0-3-0 on the season with the setback. The Blue Jays improve to 4-0-0 overall with the win.
The visitors seized a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. Victoria Hern (Salem, N.H.) netted her first goal of the fall, burying a feed by Michaela Connors (Norwell, Mass.).
The home side responded with a goal in the 31st minute to knot the match at 1-1 as Rylee Snow picked up her second tally of the season.
At the half, Eastern Nazarene and Saint Joseph were deadlocked at 1-1 with the Blue Jays holding a 17-1 advantage in shots.
Saint Joseph claimed a one-goal edge in the 59th minute, 2-1. Snow scored her second marker of the game and Jenna Banta provided the assist on the go-ahead score.
Senior goalkeeper Griselda Minchaca (Whittier, Calif.) finished with 10 saves in her third start of the season.
The Lions managed one shot on the afternoon while the Blue Jays generated 29 attempts.
