QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team topped Bay Path 1-0 on Senior Day during Homecoming weekend Saturday afternoon at Creedon Field.
The Lions climb to 5-7-1 on the year and 2-3-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with the win. The Wildcats slip to 6-5-1 overall and 2-4-0 in league matches with the outcome.
Prior to the start of the match, the Eastern Nazarene women's soccer program honored its two seniors: Kennedy Dowling (Nashua, N.H.) and Libby Nyquist (Barre, Vt.).
The home team found the back of the net in the 26th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass.) fired a right-footed shot from the top of the box to collect her seventh tally of the year while Sam Bernardi (Longmeadow, Mass.) picked up her fifth assist.
Eastern Nazarene generated eight shots in the first frame while Bay Path produced four attempts.
The Lions limited the visitors to just two shots in the second stanza to lock up the crucial conference victory while also attempting 14 shots in the second half.
Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass.) recorded three saves on the day to post her second clean sheet of the fall.
