ARLINGTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 setback at Lesley Saturday evening.
The Lions fall to 3-6-0 on the year and 1-2-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with the loss. The Lynx improve to 6-3-0 overall and 3-0-0 in conference play with the result.
The home team tallied the opening score in the 13th minute as Samantha Bessey headed in a cross by Kyra Harbus for her team-leading sixth strike of the fall.
Lesley added a goal in the 18th minute to widen the gap to 2-0 as Jordan Mitchell fired a shot into the back of the net to notch her second tally of the year.
The Lynx tacked on their third goal of the first half in the 26th minute. Mitchell collected her second marker of the match to give the hosts a 3-0 advantage.
Lesley chalked up a goal in the 34th minute to stretch the margin to 4-0. Natsuki Futakuci buried her second goal of the season off of an assist by Julia Cohn.
Eastern Nazarene was held without a shot in the first frame while the home side generated 11 shot attempts.
The Lynx pushed its lead to 5-0 with an early strike in the second stanza. Sam Ring pounced on a loose ball in the box and scored her first goal of the season in the 55th minute.
Lesley extended its advantage in the 60th minute to 6-0. Ruby Hill picked up her first marker of the fall as Kendall Eagan provided the assist.
The Lions finished with two shots as senior Kennedy Dowling (Nashua, N.H.) registered the team's lone shot on frame. The Lynx racked up 26 total shots on the night while also owning an 8-0 gap in corner kicks.
Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass.) made 13 stops on the night in her ninth start of the season.
