WENHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback at Gordon Wednesday evening.
The Lions fall to 3-5-0 on the year with the loss while the Fighting Scots improve to 5-4-0 overall.
The home side got on the board just before the halftime intermission to seize a 1-0 lead. Ashton Barkey netted her second goal of the season in the 44th minute.
Eastern Nazarene was unable to record a shot attempt in the opening frame while Gordon produced 12 shots.
The Fighting Scots added a score in the 46th minute to widen the gap to 2-0. Devin Lacroix lofted a long-range shot into the back of the net for her first tally of the year.
Gordon tacked on a goal in the 50th minute to extend its advantage to 3-0. Lexi Potter netted her ninth marker of the season off of an assist by Tori Caswell.
The hosts stretched the margin to 4-0 as Asha Steele tallied her fourth goal of the fall in the 60th minute.
The Lions finished with four shots on the night, paced by Victoria Hern (Salem, N.H.) with a pair of attempts. The Fighting Scots fired 20 shots in the contest owned a 13-0 edge in corner kicks earned.
Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass.) posted four saves in her eighth start in goal.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to conference play September 29 at defending NECC champion Lesley.
