QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team narrowly fell to Nichols, 1-0, Friday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions slide to 3-13-1 on the year and 0-8-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the setback. The Bison improve to 4-11-1 overall and 1-7-0 in league contests with the win.
Prior to the start of the match, the Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team honored its six seniors: Kayla Aragon (Dover, N.J.), Jamie Emerson (Attleboro, Mass.), Kiara Ketchuck (Taunton, Mass.), Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.), Kylie Queisner (Keenesburg, Colo.) and Alexis Schmidt (North Smithfield, R.I.).
The home side managed two shots in the first half while the visitors attempted four shots.
Nichols picked up the lone goal in the match in the 82nd minute. Taylor Souza buried her team-high ninth tally of the season, booting in a loose ball inside the box.
The Lions finished with 11 shots on the night while the Bison registered 10. Kelly Couite (West Bridgewater, Mass.) fired four shots to pace Eastern Nazarene.
Rookie Griselda Minchaca (Whittier, Calif.) posted a pair of saves in her second consecutive start in net.
