QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team fell to Gordon 3-0 Saturday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions dip to 3-9-0 on the season and 0-5-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the loss. The Fighting Scots improve to 6-4-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the league with the victory.
The visitors got on the board in the 39th minute to snag a 1-0 lead just before halftime. Lexi Potter buried her fourth goal of the fall and Asha Steele picked up an assist.
Eastern Nazarene managed just one shot in the opening 45 minutes of play while Gordon fired five shots.
The Fighting Scots doubled their advantage in the 77th minute as Steele netted her first tally of the year.
Gordon capped off the scoring in the 81st minute as Devin Lacroix found the back of the net for her first marker of the season.
The Lions finished with nine shots in the game, led by Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) with six attempts. The Fighting Scots tried 11 shots on the night.
Anastasia Swift (Morrisville, Vt.) recorded six saves in goal for the home side.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will visit Salem State October 11 for a non-conference match.
