PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team endured a 5-0 loss at Johnson & Wales Saturday evening in a non-conference matchup.
The Lions slide to 0-3-0 overall while the Wildcats improve to 3-0-0 on the season.
The hosts seized a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute as Kyra Selner setup Catherine Nolan's first goal of the season with a through pass.
Johnson & Wales extended its advantage to 2-0 in the 38th minute. Gabriella Weithofer found the back of the net off of a feed by Anna Goerler.
The Wildcats tacked on their third goal of the match in the 40th minute as Janelle Charron blasted a shot into the cage off of a corner kick service by Weithofer.
The home side added a score in the 60th minute to widen the margin to 4-0. Selner finished off a loose ball inside the box after a shot caromed off the crossbar.
Johnson & Wales capped off the scoring in the 77th minute as Deja Hursey netted her first tally of the season.
Eastern Nazarene managed five shots on the night while the Wildcats racked up 31 shots.
Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) fired a team-high two shots in the contest.
Anastasia Swift (Morrisville, Vt.) finished with nine saves between the posts for the Lions.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns home to open conference play against Endicott September 10.
