Women’s Soccer Claims No. 8 Seed in CCC Tournament, Quarterfinal Match at Roger Williams Set for Saturday
QUINCY, Mass.- In head coach Mackenzie Arment's first season at the helm, the Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs for the fifth-straight year. The Lions nabbed the No. 8 seed and will battle top-seeded and undefeated Roger Williams in the quarterfinals October 31 on the road.
Eastern Nazarene and Roger Williams have met on the pitch 17 times with the Lions trailing in the all-time series 0-16-1 with the lone draw occurring in 2003. The two teams have never met in postseason action.
Eastern Nazarene posted a 5-8-3 overall record in the regular season and finished the conference schedule with a 2-5-2 mark.
Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) paces the Lions with 19 points on the season as she has registered eight goals and three assists. Kelly Couite (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has collected 18 points this fall on eight tallies and two assists.
Kiara Ketchuck (Taunton, Mass.) has dished out a team-high four assists this year.
Senior Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) has started all 16 matches between the pipes for Eastern Nazarene this season. She sports a 1.68 goals-against average with four shutouts and 131 total saves. Farley has twice been honored as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Roger Williams, the defending CCC Tournament champion, enters the match ranked nationally and regionally, checking in at No. 23 in the D3Soccer.com National Poll and fourth in the NCAA Regional Rankings.
The Hawks boast a 16-0-3 record on the year and finished atop the league standings with an 8-0-1 mark.
