Farley Earns CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Honors
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior goalkeeper Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
This marks the fourth Defensive Player of the Week nod in her career and second this season after receiving the distinction October 12.
Farley racked up 33 saves in a 0-1-1 week for the Lions.
In Eastern Nazarene's 2-2 double-overtime draw at Curry, Farley turned aside a career high 24 saves. Her 24 saves is one of the highest single-game totals in all of NCAA Division III this fall, just five shy of the single-game high.
She capped off the week with a nine-save effort in a 2-0 loss at the University of New England.
This season, Farley has started all 15 matches between the pipes and has stopped 126 shots to sport a 1.60 goals-against average.
The Lions boast a 5-7-3 overall record with a 2-4-2 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene wraps up the regular season at home against Wentworth October 27.
