Women’s Soccer Captures Third-Straight New England College Spring Tournament Crown
HENNIKER, N.H.- For the third consecutive spring, the Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team claimed the New England College Spring Tournament championship with a dazzling performance April 25.
Under direction of new head coach Mackenzie Arment, the Lions conceded no goals and posted a 4-0-1 record on the day.
Eastern Nazarene defeated host New England College 3-0 and fellow Commonwealth Coast Conference squad Gordon 1-0 and battled Plymouth State to a 0-0 draw in the group stage.
The Lions topped Gordon 1-0 in the first round of the knockout phase to advance to the championship match.
Eastern Nazarene and Plymouth State played to a scoreless deadlock in regulation to send the contest to overtime. Sophomore Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.), an All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honorable mention selection in the fall, netted the golden goal early in the extra session.
Junior Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) stood tall between the pipes, stopping every shot she faced in the five matches.
