Women’s Soccer Selected to Second-Straight ECAC Tournament
DANBURY, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team earned a spot in the ECAC Division III New England Women's Soccer Championship for the second consecutive season, claiming the No. 5 seed in the eight-team tournament.
The Lions will travel to fourth-seeded Framingham State for a quarterfinal tilt November 12 at 7 pm.
Eastern Nazarene sports a 9-9-2 overall record on the year. The Lions finished the regular season with a 6-3-0 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference to lock up third place in the league standings, the highest finish in program history.
Seniors Lauren Kett (Norwich, England) and Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) garnered All-Commonwealth Coast Conference first team honors this fall. Hannah Scahill (Quaker Hill, Conn.) was selected to the All-CCC second team while Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) received All-CCC honorable mention.
Scahill leads Eastern Nazarene with 17 points on the fall with eight goals and one assist. Speno ranked second on the team with 12 points on the year with five tallies and two helpers.
Junior goalkeeper Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) boasts a 1.16 goals-against average and has recorded five shutouts.
During the regular season, the Lions picked up the program's first-ever wins over Endicott, Gordon and Wheaton (Mass.).
Last fall, Eastern Nazarene earned the team's first-ever ECAC Tournament berth and suffered a 3-2 double-overtime loss to Wheaton (Mass.) in the quarterfinal round.
Wednesday's match will mark the first-ever meeting between the Lions and Rams.
