QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene women's soccer team endured its third-straight loss Tuesday evening, dropping a 2-0 non-conference decision to Brandeis at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions dip to 8-4-0 on the season while the Judges improve to 9-2-0 with the result.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 42nd minute of play to seize a 1-0 lead. Dara Spital tallied her ninth score of the season as her direct shot from a free kick just outside of the penalty box hit the crossbar and landed inside the goal.
Brandeis held a 6-3 advantage in first-half shots, including a 3-2 margin in shots on goal. Neither side earned a corner kick in the opening 45 minutes.
The Judges doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 50th minute. Spital found Holly Szafran unmarked at the top of the penalty box unmarked with a pass from the left side of the field. Szafran slotted a shot inside the left post for her third marker of the year.
Brandeis finished the match with 12 shots, including seven on frame. Eastern Nazarene registered nine shots in the contest with four being on target.
Both squads earned a pair of corner kicks in the contest.
Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) recorded five saves in goal for the hosts. Michelle Savuto stopped four shots between the pipes for the Judges on the day.
Sam Williams (Forest Hill, Md.) and Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) each attempted three shots in the game while Gabby Humphreys (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.0 fired two.
