Women’s Soccer Impresses at New England College Tournament

HENNIKER, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene women's soccer team rattled off five shutout victories en route to capturing the New England College spring tournament title April 20.
The Lions claimed a trio of 2-0 decisions in the group stages to advance to the knockout round. Eastern Nazarene prevailed 4-0 in the semifinals before topping Plymouth State 1-0 in the championship match.
Eastern Nazarene also picked up wins over Mount Ida, New Hampshire Tech and New England College at the one-day event.
Sophomore Tina Corey (Canterbury, Conn.), an All-Commonwealth Coast Conference second team selection in the fall, paced the Lions' offensive attack with five goals.
Freshman Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.), a three-time Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week in 2012, played all five matches between the pipes and turned aside every shot she faced.
In 2012, Eastern Nazarene posted a 9-8-3 overall record with a 5-2-2 mark in league play. The Lions reached the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament after defeating the University of New England 1-0 in the quarterfinals at home.
