Gonzales, Farley Collect CCC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Amelia Gonzales (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) has been named the CCC Defensive Player of the Week while Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) garnered her third CCC Rookie of the Week honor of the season, as announced by the league office Monday.

The duo helped the Lions to a 1-0-1 record on the week as Eastern Nazarene tied the University of New England 1-1 in the final regular-season contest before downing the Nor'easters 1-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinals.
In the Lions' 1-1 tie against the University of New England, Gonzales netted her first marker of the year. The sophomore defender headed home the game-tying goal in the 51st minute while anchoring the defense to aid the Lions in securing the program's first-ever home playoff match. Farley stopped five shots between the pipes in the draw for Eastern Nazarene.
In the Lions' 1-0 victory over the Nor'easters in the opening round of the CCC Tournament, Farley registered five saves en route to claiming her ninth win of the season and fifth clean sheet while Gonzales played a key role as the Eastern Nazarene defense stymied the University of New England attack.
Eastern Nazarene, the No. 4 seed in the CCC Tournament, boasts a 9-7-3 overall record and finished the 2012 regular season with a 5-2-2 league mark.
Looking ahead, the Lions will visit top-seeded Gordon November 1 in the CCC semifinals. Eastern Nazarene dropped a 3-0 decision to the Fighting Scots earlier this fall.
