Women’s Soccer Places Four on All-CCC Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene women's soccer team garnered four All-Commonwealth Coast Conference accolades this season, as announced by the league office Saturday.
Sophomore Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) headlined the selections as she earned a spot on the All-CCC first team. Sophomore Tina Corey (Canterbury, Conn.) claimed second team honors while Morgan Goodney (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Amelia Gonzales (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) both received honorable mention.
Speno tallied a team-best 21 points in the regular season. The sophomore scored nine goals and added three assists. She also paced the squad with five game-winning goals this fall.
Corey ranked second on the Lions with seven points as she netted three goals and dished out one helper. The sophomore was also a key contributor on the defensive end for Eastern Nazarene.
Goodney was a stalwart in the Lions' midfield this season while notching one goal, the game-winner at Western New England in double overtime. The senior also added one assist on the year to own three points.
Gonzales anchored the Eastern Nazarene backline this fall, starting 16 matches and coming off the bench in one game. The sophomore collected her first marker of the season in the Lions' 1-1 draw against the University of New England in the regular-season finale October 23.
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with an 8-7-3 overall record and a 5-2-2 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Lions secured the #4 seed in the CCC Playoffs and will host fifth-seeded University of New England October 27 in the program's first-ever home playoff match.
