CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team absorbed a 2-0 road loss Thursday evening to Lesley in a non-league contest at Edwards Field. The Lions slide to 0-4 on the season while the Lynx remain undefeated at 3-0 overall.
Lesley netted the match's opening goal in the 37th minute to grab a 1-0 lead. Veronica Halen fed Alexis Giusti inside the Eastern Nazarene penalty area. Giusti deposited her second marker of the season, burying the ball in the center of the net.
The Lynx clasped to the 1-0 edge at the break while owning a 5-2 advantage in the shots category.
The hosts tallied their second goal of the evening in the 77th minute. Halen recorded her first score of the fall as she converted a penalty kick.
Lesley closed out the match to earn its third-straight win to begin the 2012 campaign. The Lynx finished with 11 shots while the Lions registered three. Sophomore Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) led Eastern Nazarene with two shots and fired the visitors' lone attempt on frame.
Between the posts, Rachel Henry (Lowell, Mass.) turned aside four shots in the game. Emiliegh Lloyd made one save to post her third shutout of the year.
The Lions return to the pitch September 11 as they continue non-conference action at UMass-Dartmouth.
