Stevie Orton Repeats as NECC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Stevie Orton (Gilford, N.H) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the second-straight week, announced the league office Monday.
Orton averaged 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest on the week as the Lions claimed a pair of non-conference victories.
She posted her second-consecutive double-double in Eastern Nazarene's 90-50 win at Pine Manor as she finished with 15 points and 11 boards. Orton poured in a game-high 20 points and hauled in seven rebounds as the Lions topped Salve Regina 80-45.
This season, Orton ranks third in the conference with 17.7 points per game and paces the league with a 55.6% field-goal percentage. She is also averaging a team-best 8.2 rebounds per contest along with 1.5 assists per game.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene opens conference play December 3 at home against Dean.
