Jenn Burnham Tabbed NECC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
MARSHFIELD, Mass.- Junior Jenn Burnham (West Valley City, Utah) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, announced the conference office Monday.
Burnham averaged 23.0 points and 6.5 rebounds to lead the Lions to a pair of key league wins last week.
In Eastern Nazarene's 76-58 victory over Elms, she posted 25 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals off the bench.
Burnham netted 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Lions' dramatic 80-76 come-from-behind win at New England College.
Burnham shot 53.3% from the floor while also converting 14-of-15 free throw attempts on the week.
This season, Burnham leads the league in field-goal percentage with a 49.3% clip. She also paces the squad with 10.1 points per game while adding 4.1 rebounds per contest on the year.
The Lions boast an 8-1 overall record and are riding an eight-game winning-streak, the longest streak in program history since the 1999-2000 campaign. Eastern Nazarene also sports an unblemished 4-0 mark in NECC competition to sit atop the conference standings.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will travel to Puerto Rico to face off against the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez December 29.
