BreAnna Fraser Named CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year; Fraser, Cooper Earn All-CCC Women’s Hoops Accolades
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team was chosen as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year while joining junior Jaysa Cooper (Frisco, Texas) as All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selections, announced the league office Monday.
Fraser received All-Commonwealth Coast Conference second team laurels while Cooper collected third team honors.
A history major with a pre-law minor, Fraser becomes the first player in program history to earn CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. She owns a 3.905 GPA and was named to the Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference last year while also serving as a captain for the past two seasons.
Fraser appeared in 22 contests and made 19 starts this season while averaging 7.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. She ranks sixth in the league with 3.0 assists per game.
Cooper has seen action in 24 games this year and started nine contests. She leads the Lions with 9.0 points per game and ranks third on the team with 5.4 rebounds per outing.
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 17-8 overall record and posted a conference mark of 10-8. The Lions are making their fifth postseason appearance in the past six years after earning the No. 5 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. Eastern Nazarene will hit the road to face off against fourth-seeded Endicott in the quarterfinals February 21.
