Jaysa Cooper Collects CCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Nod
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Junior guard Jaysa Cooper (Frisco, Texas) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team picked up her first career Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week award, announced the league office Monday.
Cooper averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assists per game to help the Lions post a 1-1 record on the week.
In Eastern Nazarene's 73-66 victory over Western New England, she erupted for a career-high 28 points to go along with nine boards.
Cooper poured in 19 points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out two assists in the Lions' 78-68 loss at the University of New England.
Cooper shot 54.5% from the floor on the week, connecting on 18-of-33 field-goal attempts. She also converted 11-of-16 attempts from the free throw line on the week.
Eastern Nazarene sports a 15-8 overall record with an 8-8 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
The Lions return to the hardwood February 15 as they welcome Nichols in the final home contest of the regular season.
