Women’s Hoops Drops 69-51 Decision at Endicott Saturday
BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team suffered a 69-51 setback at Endicott Saturday afternoon.
The Lions slip to 4-4 on the year and 0-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the loss. The Gulls improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in league action with the win.
BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) posted 15 points off the bench to lead the visitors. Jaysa Cooper (Frisco, Texas) finished with nine points and eight rebounds on the day. Jasmine Mata (Santa Barbara, Calif.) netted eight points and Chelesey Kyle (Omaha, Neb.) added six points.
Endicott doubled up Eastern Nazarene in the first quarter 20-10. The Lions trailed by 12 points at the halftime break, 37-25.
Eastern Nazarene outscored the hosts 16-12 in the third frame to cut the deficit to 49-41 heading into the fourth period.
The Lions mustered just 10 points in the final quarter while the Gulls chalked up 20 to secure their second conference win of the season.
Kelsey Cuddy paced Endicott with 21 points, five blocks, five steals and four boards while Hannah Shaw poured in 17 points.
The Lions shot 34.5% from the floor and connected on just 1-of-8 from beyond the arc. The Gulls finished with a field-goal percentage of 43.8% to go with 25% shooting from long range.
