Women’s Basketball Topples Daniel Webster, 80-49
NASHUA, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team prevailed 80-49 at Daniel Webster College in non-league action Saturday afternoon.
The Lions improve to 2-1 on the year while the Eagles fall to 0-3 overall.
Jessica Franco (Phoenix, Ariz.) led all scorers with 18 points off the bench while adding seven rebounds. Elia Salazar (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished with 12 points and four boards. Krystal Holl (Smithsburg, Md.) notched 11 points and eight rebounds. Nicole Greer (Odenton, Md.) paced the guests with nine boards in the game while also netting eight points.
Eastern Nazarene raced out to a 25-10 lead after the first quarter of play.
The Lions held the Eagles to just seven points in the second frame and tallied 15 points to hold a 40-17 advantage at the midway point of the game.
The visitors shot 38.5% from the floor in the first half and 40% from behind the arc. The home team connected on just 4-of-28 field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.
Eastern Nazarene expanded its lead to 68-39 after three quarters of action.
The Lions edged the Eagles 12-10 in fourth-quarter scoring to lock up a 31-point victory.
Eastern Nazarene finished with a field-goal percentage of 44.3% on the day while draining 35.3% of its three-point attempts. Daniel Webster shot 27.8% from the floor in the game and 21.4% from long range.
