Women’s Basketball’s Mhiah Vickers Selected to Participate in NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic
KEENE, N.H.- Mhiah Vickers (Westlake Village, Calif.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team has been selected to participate in the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic March 28 at Smith College's Ainsworth Gym in Northampton, Massachusetts.
At the conclusion of the regular season, Vickers became the first Lion to claim All-CCC first team accolades since 2000-01.
She started all 26 contests this season for Eastern Nazarene and played a vital role in leading the team to a 12-14 overall record with a 10-8 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Vickers led the Lions and ranked fourth in the league in scoring with 15.3 points per game. She also paced the squad and ranked ninth in the conference in rebounding with 7.1 boards per contest.
Vickers ranked fourth in the league with 2.3 steals per game, ninth in assists per game with 2.8 helpers and is tied for eighth in the conference with 1.2 blocks per contest.
She has registered seven double-doubles on the year and strung together four double-double in four consecutive games this season.
Vickers sports a field-goal percentage of 40.8% while connecting on 32.8% of her attempts from the perimeter. She has also converted 74.7% of her chances from the free throw stripe on the season.
Vickers was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week twice during the regular season.
