Gillett comes to Eastern Nazarene after a five-year stint serving as the head softball coach and athletics coordinator at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo. Gillett founded the softball program at Valor Christian in 2008 and guided the Eagles to their first-ever postseason appearance in 2012 with a squad comprised of primarily freshmen and sophomores.

In 2012, Gillett's softball squad was awarded the All-State Academic Team Award for a cumulative grade-point average higher than 3.5.

Prior to her time at Valor Christian, Gillett coached softball at Rockford High School in Rockford, Mich. for two seasons.

"Stephanie, as both a student and teacher of the game of softball, has had the experience of recruiting and developing a program. Her ability to organize and support high academic and Christian standards of her players will continue to be a priority of her program at Eastern Nazarene College," commented Detwiler. "She understands and supports the ENC Mission of educating the whole person. Her goal is to help athletes achieve their fullest potential as Christian softball players."

Gillett graduated from Cedarville University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education and health. As an undergraduate, Gillett served as a student assistant coach with the Yellow Jackets' softball program where she was responsible for implementing practice plans, assisting in recruiting and other various game day management responsibilities. She helped guide Cedarville to the NCCAA Midwest Regional Championship en route to a berth in the National Tournament in 2000. In her time at Cedarville, three Yellow Jackets earned NCCAA All-America first team honors.

"I am thrilled to become a part of the ENC family," said Gillett. "To have the opportunity to continue developing a program while also encouraging young women to become powerful and effective Christian leaders in their community is my true joy."
