Bio

Madison Flowers recently completed her third year at Eastern Nazarene College, traveling across six states and 1,000 miles to begin her coaching journey on the east coast. Flowers will serve as an assistant coach for ENC’s softball and basketball teams.

The Lions posted a 7-21 overall record with a 3-15 league mark in her third season.

In 2013, Flowers helped the Lions reach the Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs for the second-straight season with a 10-24 overall record and a 7-11 league mark.

In her first season with the Lions, the team posted a 15-24 overall record with a 6-12 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. ENC also returned to the CCC playoffs in 2012, highlighted by an upset-victory over Nichols in the first round.

Flowers grew up in the small town of Somerset (Ky.) where she attended Somerset High School from 2001 to 2005. She was a four-year letter winner in both softball and basketball and scored an impressive 1,000 points during her career.

After excelling in basketball during her high school years, Flowers was awarded an athletic scholarship to attend the University of the Cumberlands, where she joined the Patriots’ basketball team. During her first year at UC, she helped her team advance to the NAIA Sweet Sixteen. Flowers and the Patriots’ basketball team continued to flourish over the next four seasons.

Her senior year, after being named a team captain for the second straight season, Flowers led her team to the best record in school history, garnering 29 wins and losing just five times. The Patriots qualified for the national tournament, and journeyed into the postseason, where they advanced to the NAIA Elite Eight.

Flowers left a great legacy at the University of the Cumberlands as a 1,000 point scorer, and an All-Conference team selection (2009). Her team became Mid-South Conference regular season champions three out of her four years. In addition, UC took home the MSC Tournament Championship in 2009.

After her collegiate career, with a diploma in hand and coaching aspirations in her heart, she ventured to Asbury University (Wilmore, Ky.) where she joined the women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. During her tenure at Asbury, she also served as the head coach for the 7th grade girls’ basketball team at East Jessamine Middle School (Nicholasville, Ky.).

Most recently, Flowers served an assistant and the head freshman coach at East Jessamine High School.

Flowers currently works full-time at ENC in the Center for Academic Success and Admissions.
